Do you offer free trials?
Yes! I would always advocate trying a class prior to signing up for the term. A trial must be organised in advance and is dependent on spaces being available. If it's not your thing, no problem! You will not be invoiced for a trial class. If you love it ( I hope you do!) then you register with the academy and pay for that upcoming term.
What should I wear?
We have a lovely academy uniform with everything from leotards to tap & ballet shoes in our own online store. However if you're trying a class for the first time, a t-shirt & leggings is absolutely fine! Bare feet is fine for ballet & modern and most of the time we have tap shoes we can lend.
At what age do children start at HMDA?
Our classes start with Mini Movers - 6 - 18 months then progress to Happy Feet classes for children aged 18 months to 3 years and then from Pre- school all the way up to 18 yrs. Every class is planned specifically for the students age and level and are designed to encourage confidence above everything else. We have watching weeks 3 times per year so you can see what happens in a regular class and how your child is progressing alongside our syllabus examinations, various performance opportunities and our Bi-annual whole school show.
